Alienware Aurora m9700 or Dell XPS M1710? - Page 6

Ok, i'm goin to pop in here one more time. Ok this is just my opinion but i wouldn't go with xps 1710 or m9700. I would go with the Dell M90 because me, i like to use like 3d max, iClone version 1.0, maya, etc. And i would benefit from the quadro, but i also like to game. In the reviews of the M90 people are getting the same performance as the 7900 gtx 512 mb ingaming. Why would i go with the Dell? Because Dell has the only laptop thats under 3 k thats has the Quadro 2500 FX. I know like the area 51 7700, aurora m7700, saer 9750, sager 9890, Hypersonic FX7, Hypersonic Ex7, etc. This is my little opinion....remember my opinion!Dell- good prices, cheap, sometimes crappy material made except the xps systems, heard great stuff, Alienware- Raw power, pretty expensive excpet m9700, Great desktops, Hypersonic-Good prices, i like how they have the deal with smooth creations, Sager (i.e. powernotebooks, discount laptops)- good prices, don't know that much about cs, great build quality, i don't like the looks. OK THAT IS MY OPINION, DON'T GO AND SAY "H3 IS THE NOTORIOUS ULTRA N00B NOT L33T PWNZ0R BECAUSE H35 SUCH A NOOB, WHAT HES DISCING D311, 41I3NW4R3, S4G3R, HYP3RS0NIC? sTUPID n00bz! Its my opinion, you don't have to agree with and, i reall don't give a rat's ass.

For all you guys here is the Evesham(Alienware), some good points I have to say please make a note of the FPS in the games tested.

Yeah, I mentioned that a few posts up. We'll see if it gets through the logic barrier.

This is wonderful information, except Evasham doesn't ship to the US. And the savings is a couple hundred dollars, not 30%. Even if they could ship to the US, the shipping would be more than the difference.

Please keep your Alienware bashing and your lies about the capabilities of your Dell in the Dell section, that's where it belongs.

If your itching to ban someone, ban Jakes. The Dell section has been repeatedly warned about doing exactly what he is doing, he's full of beans, and he's here for no other reason than to bash Alienware and try to direct potential Alienware buyers elsewhere.

You might as well ban me also, it's becoming more and more tiresome to spend time in here dealing with this BS. It's impossible to give advice and accurate information to those that request it in here anyway when the Dell crowd is allowed to take a dump on any string in this section with no repercussions. Last time it happened we lost several long term members of this section yet it continues.

I wonder if the Dell mods would allow AW section members to do the same in their forum.

How can they still refuse to accept the facts. We've proved their points wrong with HARD EVIDENCE everytime. They have nothing to argue with.

Good choice, I think you will be most pleased!

One reason ot to get a dell...they explode :P http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/22/d...ll-is-on-fire/

But good choice on the alienware, I like them (I had one a while ago as a desktop, unfortuneately it crapped out), bad experiences with dell though (I had an XPS Gen 2 and I had some overheating issues) But I think if the alienware is a good computer suited to your needs well you made a good decision. If you just wanted ot get a veyr fast laptop which looks cool, still a good choice well anyways hope it owrks out for you

for the price endeavor i would suggest looking at the Gateway NX860.
Even thow its not a total gaming rig like m9700/XPS 1710 it offers pretty good specs for the price.

Oh, hey quick question for you m9700 owners, does the notebook come with a breifcase?
um i posted something like that the title was aura mALX vs dell exps and they totaly took it off but i said good and bad things about but u put it in specs that may be deleted though. but alienware for me all the way.

Yea, Truewesh you werent asking a question, you seemed to be starting a Flame war, the topic creator on the other hand was asking a question about which laptop he wanted to buy, but that aside, the AW experience is kind of double sided, some people have had a horrible experience other have had a wonderous experience. I personally would go by the specs themselves, but personal experience is always a great asset. As I stated before, go by what you think is best (topic creator) that will always be what it comes down too anyways. Plus dont overthink it too much.

The End...

Of threads like this forever. Yang and I will be deleting any AW vs Dell type threads in the future. They're the same flipping company and we STILL can't get along
