Which do you prefer? Why?

I'm leaning towards WXGA (1280x800) so I can clearly read text and view icons, but i can't get TrueLife with this option. Additionally, I've heard that colors appear to be more washed out and less crisp than WXGA+ (1440x900).

I've had an 15.4" laptop which was 1680x1050. and I thought the text and icons were too small. Will a 14.1" laptop which is 1440x900 be similar?

I'd go with WXGA+ for the extra desktop real estate, but I also prefer SXGA+ on 14" standard ratio and WSXGA+ on 15.4" screens so I wouldn't have issues to the smaller text.

WXGA+ on a 14" won't make things as small as WSXGA+ on a 15.4" but it'll be pretty close. Here's a pretty useful DPI table. A 14" WXGA+ screen has a dpi of 121.4 whereas a 15.4" WSXGA+ has a dpi of 129.2.

I got the 1440x900 and am pleased. The only thing that I don't like is the highly refective screen. I haven't found that the text is too small, but that is just me...

my last 14" was a 1280x768 and it felt perfect.

this 1440x900 seems to be borderline, some sites look fine, others i have to enlarge the fonts, if both were available with truelife, i'd get the 1280.

Has anyone bought WXGA and been happy with it? It seems that most of the satisfied customers who are posting have WXGA+.

Go with the WXGA+. I think the resolution is fine. Either way it's not going to be THAT much smaller.

Arr, you can always just increase the font and icon size in Windows. Higer resolution is bettah.
