Hey,
I know a fair bit about computers and I am quite an avid (spelling) gamer i'd say, and I'd like a laptop for college for schoolwork (duh) and games as well. Currently I play WoW and HL2, but I'd like a laptop to play games like BF2 and the other new ones coming out with good fps (40-70ish) and not lag, cuz I want to have fun. Anywher in the $1500-2k range is good, and please leave as many suggestions as you can possibly think of, cuz ultimatly i want to chose, i dont want to ahve someone else pick it in a sense and then be dissapointed. Also, I'm not afraid to go down a custom laptop route if thats what it takes. Screen quality is also important, as my brothers 2-3 year old dell has an awful screen, and I could nto handle that. BTW, I prefer nVidia graphics cards, and i want a minimum of 256mb on it and 1gig of ram in the laptop itstelf. Thanks everyone.

Also, what is your take about buying a laptop on ebay? I've seen some dells on there that cost almost $3k through dell.com to customize it to that level that are droppin down to $2100 range, which would be a great buy. But still, its eBay, so waht are your thoughts/suggestiosn? and if not ebay, whats the best place to buy it at? thanks guys

Yeah...that's a pretty nice deal.

I'd take that if I didnt need dual monitor support.

OK, so I understand the dell is just a little bit more expensive after using hte coupon, but will that $100 or $200 be noticable in gaming? like what i'm asking is what are the pros and cons of each? I understand the dell is a 17" with a better video card, but will i notice the difference in gaming performance between the two? like which one will run smoother/faster/more consistant?

thanks

The s96j looks like a great deal, however weight is important for me. i want a relatively light lappy (5-6 pounds) so how much does this one weigh?
