Yep, go into your account on the dell website, it should be in order status.

its more likely they would send a refurbished or returned m170s--- i would assume they still have a good number of them available since they were only stopped being made recently.

They'll probably have stock for the remainder of the year.

It was shipped 2 weeks and you still do not have it?? Wow.. That sucks

Ok first to Vesuvan, my bad, your right it doesnt seem to show up in the status box. below that under my support there is something called Service call status. Click on that and put in your service call number. You should have been given it in the chat session.

And now for the good news!!!! They changed mine to a m170 G70 this morning ! Im getting a 7800gtx! Thanks Acidfire52 for the info. Heres some rep.

Thanks for the Help GBmanNC. But it appears that this won't work for me since I have a basic Rapid Responce Depot / Limited hardware support warranty. I only got a Case # and a Dispatch #. I tried entering my service tag and these numbers, but no results came up. So, I guess there is no real way of knowing what I get without contacting Dell. Just have to wait see what I get, IF I ever get it back.

Don't think that is what he meant. He meant the packaging that was sent to him to return the laptop to dell was shipped two weeks ago. am i right?

Just got an e-mail back from the Dell rep. He checked the status and stated "The laptop's video card would be replaced with the one that was originally ordered(256MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 6800 )" So, no free 7800 GTX for me.

Did he actually say 6800? They told me it would be the same card as well, but it changed. There is still hope.

Vesuvan, Fight for a 7800 GTX.. tell Dell you have had enought with this messing around! Isn't this your second replacement?
GBmanNC: Yes, he said that exact quote I listed above. 6800. So, who knows... maybe they'll rush it along and put a 7800 GTX to get it out the door. The Dell rep I talked to was from the XPS Dell Chat, so he is probally getting the info second or third hand also. At this point, I don't care what I get. I JUST WANT IT BACK!

Jeep4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4..... Yes, this is my second replaced 6800 Ultra. I've read that there was a bad batch of these produced. Looks like you have the same specs as I do, yours will probally die soon too. But maybe you don't game as much as I do and don't cause it to heat up.

Vesuvan = Venezuela Van??..... See, I can make fun too..... NOW, come on, enough with those nasty replys!... I am only trying to give some input!!

Nasty? Simply adding to your 4x4! Man, relax. We can all get nasty if we want to. I'm about ready to get Nasty on Dell if I don't get my laptop back by the end of the week.

Quick question....

When they say "256MB NVIDIA GEFORCE 6800", I hope for your sake they don't mean vanilla 6800.....did they at least say ultra???

Otherwise that is a downgrade....

True that.. vesuvan! Hope all goes well for you with almightly Dell.

Vesuvan.. do not give up hope man. They said to me they would only send me another 6800. I think they just do not have any right now, so they are sending out 7800 to cover warrenty.

I hope you get an upgrade.
