Power Jack issue on Inspiron 1100

Thread Starter
I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1100 on ebay and when I got the box it looked like they played soccer with it. 2 sides of the box was pushed in and luckily the laptop was inside another box which got dented a little bit. The problem I'm having is that the power jack is loose and I can't get the battery to charge which means I can't use the laptop. I called Dell and it will cost me $423 for a new motherboard with tax and shipping. Dell told me that it's part of the motherboard and you can't just replace the power jack. The laptop was insured but since it didn't really show any signs of being damaged they would not pay to get it repaired. The laptop is in excellent condition and I don't really want to sell it as parts. If anyone knows someone or a website that repairs them let me know.

Search eBay, you can either get a replacement mobo cheap, or find one of those guys offering to repair your board for $100. That's where I get all my Dell parts.
