Red line on rt side of screen

Greetings!
Recently my laptop (M6811) was dropped (Not by me, cabbie in Vegas) Laptop worked fine for a while, but now it has a couple of small red vertical lines down the rt side of the screen. They are there from turn on, all the way thru Windows up & running. Otherwise everything works fine, no breaks in the case.
Ideas to what piece of hardware is broken & where to get the parts? It's not a loose cable, as I opened everything up & checked all connections.

It sounds like your LCD panel is damaged. I had an LCD with the same problem. It turned out that the LCD was chipped at the top where the delicate ribbon cable attaches to the glass. If that's the case, you'll have to replace the LCD. Another possibility is the ribbon cable came loose (but did not totally break away) and applying some pressure will remove the lines. Either way, you'll need to open up the LCD casing.
