Tecra M5

Hello all,

New to this forum.

I have been a long time Tohsiba laptop user. Presently I have a Satellite Pro 4600. I have had 2 more before that... I just can't remember their models.

So, before you go...wow. you must be old.... I'll just get to the questions and humbly ask for some guidence.

I use the laptop for work and I require the Serial port (not replicated). I have been looking into the Tecra M5 (Canadian version). What I would like to know is if anyone has heard or experinced any problems with the Tecra M5.

I was going to go with the top one (t2500). How is it for other applications?
Battelfield 2, Ghost REcon AWF?

Any help or directions to sites would be appreciated.

Older than a 4600, wow you must be old (jk, my first portable computer was pre-386)

Anyways, the M5 looks like a great laptop and I haven't heard much on it either way (THIS is all I've seen here and THIS over at NBR), and usually you hear a lot about it when there are problems. I have an M2 (similar model, but a few generations older) and buildwise it's great.

I'm having a hard time geting at the specs of the T2500, but if it's the one with the Quadro 110 in it, it should game on par with a Nvidia 7300. Don't expect BF2 to play spectacularly as I've heard it's even quite a task for some of the best notebook gpu's out there.
