Hi all, this is my first post in what laptop forums, you guys seem very helpful suggesting new laptops for people so I thought you might be able to help me out! Anyway, the specifications I require for a laptop are as follows:
Max £850
Centrino duo (preferable) or solo
Long battery life (i.e. at least 3.5hrs)
Less then 3kg (fairly light) and thin
A 15" or 15.4" screen with a resolution of at least 1280x1024. I would be able to cope with a 1280x860 resolution on a 15.4" screen.
At least 512mb Ram (1GB prefered)
At least 60gb HD (not as worried about the speed of it)
DVD RW
A laptop of good build
Okay I think that about covers it! I was seriously contemplating something from the x20 Samsung series however the resolution is just too low , other than that it's long battery life, thiness and lightness would have been perfect. I'm a Computer Science student so good portability, long battery life and fairly large screen (with good resolution to be able to do all my work nicely) are very important to me. Thanks in advance for all the help I get!
Another laptop I have been looking at very closely is the asus A6JC Q006Hhttp://www.laptopshop.co.uk/asus-asus_a6jc_q006h-laptop-3-n2.htm
It seems almost perfect, however I can't find anywhere a reliable source of how good the battery is. Does anyone have one of these laptops and could give me a quick opinion of what it's like (especially including its battery life). What are the asus A6J series laptops like?

. £850incl VAT and Shipping is really the maximum budget I have (I've now edited my top post to make that clear). It looks like however for what I'm willing to pay, I'm going to have to make a few comprimises, thus the asus laptop does seem to be winning so far.
