You guys were getting new LCD's right? I'm trying to get mine replaced as well. A few dead/white pixels and the white light radiating from the bottom of the screen. It's a Samsung SXGA+.
Just wondering which screens you guys had, and if you've had any luck w/ the new ones?
I'm also asking for a new keyboard since mine is all tinny and noisy on the left side and silent and nice on the right side.. Anyone have this problem?
I almost feel like getting the whole thing replaced?
Other than that I really like my 8600.
These aren't huge issues, but like you guys say, when you're spending this kind of money on something you want it to be perfect or as near to that as it can be.
I'm sending back my ABS G1. Funny thing.. The screen on that, while it's just wxga is really nice! Bright, good color saturation, no white spots, no funky light radiating from top, bottom, sides... Not sure what kind of LCD it is, but when put side by side to the Dell it does look a lot nicer?
Anyway, Give us an update on your situations!
