I'm looking to buy an inspiron 8100 from a buddy at work and was wondering if anyone has any guestimates on the price i should be looking at.
Specs: 2.1GHz P4, 20GB HDD, Radeon 9000 128meg video card, 768megs of RAM, DVD-ROM drive
What do you guys think it's worth?
Thanks for the help.

That's actually an i8200. the i8100 had a Pentium 3 CPU.

Has good RAM, good video card and CPU. But a dinky little Hard Drive. I'd say $500, no more. I'd also tick off money if it's in bad cosmetic condition.

Thanks Mr. Evil. Yeah, 8200 then. I was just lookin at pics of it on the net and I gotta say, jeeez that's a huge computer lol. Basically i just need somethin to monitor engine temps and such in my car, and for that price, im thinkin i'll buy a little Acer.
Thanks for the help

Probably around 300 bucks or a little less would be my guess...sounds like it would mainly be useful for wireless Internet if you had a wireless card...

They generally go for over $400 on eBay.

That's weird...considering that the inspiron 9100 is going for between 700-900 bucks...

Here Is an i8200 on auction that just ended at $410. With quite inferior specs to the one the OP is considering.
