i apologise if this has been asked before but is the geforce go 7400 better than the 6800 ultra? does the 7400 use shared memory from the system?

Yes, the 7400 is a TurboCache model. Will take up to 512MB RAM I believe if your system can spare it.

As for being faster than a 6800, I would bet no. Have not seen any benches, but I would think not. Mabey faster than a vanilla 6800, but not an Ultra.

from waht I've seen the m1210 gets ~2000 in mark 05, my friends 6800 go (vanilla) gets around 4000.

Gosh, my Gen 2 with a 6800 ultra gets about 4200 on 3DMark05. Is that really bad? My friend on his desktop with an Athon 64 2gigs and a 7900gs gets over 8000. What is holding my computer back I have 2ghz and 2gb of ram.

I get in the lower 5000s with my 6800 ultra. Maybe its the drivers you use and backround processes holding you back. Do you have anti aliasing on in your graphics card settings?

It could be alot of processes or programs running in the backround. Keep in mind 4000 + point 3d mark scores for the vanilla are achieved with overclocking. There are a variety of variables. It could just be a slow card.

I am using the most recent dell drivers. i get so paranoid that im going to fry the thing. I have heard so many members of the forum say they have but i dont have any warranty left on my comp so im screwed if somthing happened. Would getting a 7800gtx be a big step forward?
