Don't leave your laptop out in the sun: aka I am an idiot

It was a nice day outside, so I figured that I would watch some family guy on my laptop, seems safe enough right? Well, it was so nice outside, that I fell asleep, and when I awoke, I found that 10 or 15 of the keys on my keyboard were warped, and popped off of the board. Besides the keys, everything else seems to be working correctly. Does anyone know if sager offers replacement keys, or is there an aftermarket company that would have keys that would fit?

The laptop is a Sager 5320-V
Thanks for your help

You will most likely need the whole keyboard. Sorry to hear of the loss

Must have been a nice day where you are at

Contact Sager. I would imagine a replacement keyboard shouldn't be too difficult to find. And it's very easily replaced. Thankfully the keys are the only things that were ruined.

Still in business since '99. Give us a call sometime or stop by. We are just preparing to move to a larger office.

how did that happen? Interesting thing to find the keys popped out. If it is due to heat, the laptop itself generates a lot of heat. I guess the sun on top of the laptop heat is a bad combination.

I think it was mainly due to the fact that light was hitting part of a pain bucket the right way, and magnifying the light onto one part of the keyboard. Only the center section of keys got hit. The keys look just like they were rubber, and turned inside out. I contacted pctorque, but they still havent gotten back with me.

If you end up having to buy a new keyboard, email me wmdrummond@aol.com and I may have a source that will charge a lot less for a band new replacement keyboard. I developed a decent list of resources since I had to do my own service on my older Clevo machine.

BTW.. sometimes you can get Sager to simply mail you the keys that broke/melted. They are a bit tricky to put on, but if you take your time, you can get them on there.

Good luck!

Will
