^ no do you think sager, hypersonic, powernotebooks, discount laptops are making mistakes with the 7900 gtx 256 mb. just because dell has the 7900 gtx 512 mb and the 2500 fx 512 mb doesn't mean every company has it. It seems like dell is getting some sort of speacial or something so your wrong.

Well, all of Sager's resellers are listing this as the 512MB version of the card so HyperSonic may have a typo, Sager's resellers have a typo, or there are two different versions of the card.

There should be a 512MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX soon as well. It is still neat how many video cards have been offered in the Aviator EX7/FX7 lines of notebooks. That modular video card slot has been very useful for easy access, quicker video card implementations for new designs, and potential upgrades.

The original poster is talking about the new Quadro card, not GeForce.

It looks like HyperSonic had the error. The card is now listed as 512MB for the Nvidia Quadro FX Go 2500 to match Sager's announcement. If this card works in the EX7/FX7 without modifications, then I see no reason why the bump from 256 to 512MB for the GeForce Go 7900 GTX would not as well. We shall see...

Your current card is DX10 ready. The drivers are already available. Umm at least the Vista drivers are.

I just ran the Vista upgrade scan to see if my hardware is going to be an issue with Vista. They are telling me I should upgrade to the Vista Ultimate version. So I'm assuming even though my current setup isnt working with unified pipelines and such like the newer gen cards are, I will be able to use some of the dx10 features.

Yes and No, Even NVidia lists the Quadro FX Go 2500 as "Up to 512M" on the memory details. I read that to mean that there are several options available. Hypersonic may have gotten a few 256M boards for testing and review and posted based on the information they had. They now have it listed as 512M, so am hoping they have run it thru the quantlet of testing.

"The Quadro FX series are generally aimed at scientific visualization, CAD/CAM, and digital content creation and undergo ISV certifications. Quadro FXs are themselves based off the consumer-oriented GeForce product line and have a number of additional features such as two-sided lighting, hardware clip and overlay planes not found in the GeForce products."

512M Geforce Go 7900 GTX may come but will be some time yet.
