sell my 1 year old 9880 to a friend for $1800? (i would then put that towards buying a new 5760)

Depends on who your asking if it's a good deal for. You or your friend? I would check ebay as well and find out some prices of 9880's like yours that have recently sold as well it might help you gage better.

What is the configuration? $1800 is a fair price if it's got 2gb RAM, dual HDDs, and a 3.4 or higher CPU. If it doesn't then that might be a little high for a used 9880.

I think $1400-$1500 would be a fair price for your machine. It also depends on if it has the WUXGA screen and either the GO 6800 or the 6800 Ultra?

The 9880 is the 6800 Ultra (the 9860 is the Go 6800).

yeah 1500 sounds right but if you can get more $$$ go for it!

The 9880 had the capability of going both with the GO or the Ultra. (They were both available on the 9880)

Good point, but I imagine 99% of customers get the best graphics card they can when they buy these high-end machines. If it's a 9880, then it's most likely got the 6800 Ultra.
