Regarding Express card for M1710

Hello all.
I don't have that much of knowledge about wireless cards. However, I looked over my M1710 manual yet it does not support PC card.
I believe Linksys Wireless-G is a PC card. I'm just wondering if any of you can recommand any good Express card for Wireless internet connectivity.
I have Intel (R) PRO/ Wireless 3925ABG Network Connection which seems not that good connection. One more question, Does Wired computer have better connection than wireless computer? Is there any wireless card that can have very simmilar connectivity as wired card? Thanks in advance.

For starters wired will be faster than wireless at the current time.

The Intel 3945 is a decent card in my experience. I can only think of 2 reasons why you would need/want to replace it. 1. If you are having connection/compatibility issues. 2. Your wireless router supports pre-n.

With that said there are a few people who like the Atheros card, for more information see this thread :http://www.notebookforums.com/thread154296.html

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833181005. Would this card be the right Expresscard? cardbus card would be the same as express card?
reason 1 is not my problem yet reason 2, I do not know if my router supprots pre-n(can you explain what this is?) My router is this '<TABLE class=n2 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=imageColumn width=88><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=8></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD><TD class=dataColumn><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>D-Link DGL-4300 Wireless Gaming Router, 4-Port Gigabit Switch, 802.11g, 108Mbps, 5dBi</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Thank you very much!

If you don't know whether your router support Pre-N, then it probably doesn't, and you certainly don't need it. You said yourself, the M1710 only has an Expresscard slot, so PC cards won't fit.

Intel's driver builds have become a bit flaky. My suggestion to you is to download a new driver for your internal wireless from Intel's website (as it is newer than the one Dell has available) Then uninstall the original driver and install the new one. Don't update with the new driver, do a clean install. Also, you may need to tweak the Intel drivers' roaming agressiveness.
