Battery wear?

I was wondering.. is it bad to have the ac charger plugged even though the battery is full? would it wear the battery more than letting the battery get close to 0% then recharging? not sure if that exactly makes sense..thanks anyways guys

Leave it on AC. Discharging and then charging again wears the battery more.

Other than that, search the forums. There are tons (tons!) of threads about this same question.

Thanks for that, sorry for the repeat of the same question

No, no problem... Some people mind about it... I don't, not that much... Just saying that you will find a lot of info, more than if everyone come here and answer

There's an entire thread dedicated to battery care in the Notebook Guides section. I recommend you look there. But to answer your other question, you DO NOT want to run the battery down to zero, ever. That will ruin the lifespan of your battery. Heat is actually very bad for the battery, so if you rarely use the battery then you'd be better off pulling the battery out and leaving it in a cool place while you work on AC (especially if the battery is located righ next to the cpu, heatsink, GPU or HDD all of which can get warm).

Oh yeah, id skim read the guide a bit before.. just wasnt too sure about it. Can the laptop run on ac without the battery in there? Sorry if i look dumb =P always thought the ac power ran through the battery to the laptop, and for the laptop to run the battery had to be in place...
anyhow thanks again =]

No, it does not work that way. You can use it without the battery.

I always worked in AC when I was in Florida. It was too hot to do otherwise.

i have read that battery guide, to behonest, tis not really that good. i have heard on this forum, when ppl use the ac all the time, they take out the battery to save tis life, but then others have argued of dust buiild up, since here is a gaping hole from whre the battery is, and then ppl have jsut duct taped it up.!

to avoid the hassle, i leave it on the notebook no matter what. i am worried most about any outage that may happen... the price of a battery is not worth it, imo.
