I'm trying to figure out what the deal is... I have a Prostar D8P (8880?) that has a random issue with the LCD. Normal operation seems just fine, but with GPU intensive tasks it appears to break up - looks like someone jiggling a bad video cable. From reading the forums, I would think it would be a heat issue (read somewhere about Arctic Ice) but it sometime occurs close to boot up. How do I determine if it's the GPU, heat, Inverter, or otherwise? It has the ATI 9600 Pro 128m. BTW, on really saturated colors like deep red there is also some break up, like an old TV picture tube.
