Any other people got tired of 1920 x 1200?

Thread Starter
I finally got tired of 1920 resolution in desktop, the fonts are too small at 96 dpi that will hurt my eyes. I change it to 120 dpi, but the pictures in ie 7 is screw up, and the font in a few application screen are screwed up as well. I use the suggestion in the faq to change a registry to make ie7 back to 96 dpi, but the fonts are back to too small to read for long time.

I remember vista 's IE7+ is better (i think). But now I use 1680 x 1050 to test it out, it does look a bit blurry, but I can read without tears now. I will test it out for longer time..
What do you guys thinkabout the 1920 resolution? I know pictures and movie looks great, but is it really user friendly in a 17 inch LCD? It make more sense for 24".

No way...I love the 1900x1200 resolution....would never go to anything less on the 9300...I love the sharpness, getting more on the screen...my eyes find it fine...

I love my 1920x1200 on both my lappy's.. Of course when I am at home I use the monitor listed in my profile...

I'm really chuffed as I have just today 'downgraded' my Samsung WUXGA for an old 9300 WXGA+ matte screen.

I can now run more games at a crisp native resolution (1440x900) with no slowdown, I no longer have irritating reflection on the screen , and the light leakage from this LG panel is minimal.

Sure I have lost a little screen area for when I'm working, but I have an external monitor for that. Plus I can keep my existing WUXGA panel as a spare in case I really *need* that super high resolution in future.

As a gamer primarily, I'm very happy with my 'inferior' panel..

On my 8600, yes 1920 x 1200 is way too small.

On my 9300, the extra 2 inches seems to make all the difference and makes it JUST comfortable/bareable.

The greatest thing about wuxga is that it is just the right size to be able to view 2 full windows at the same time - this is just such an advantage and so much more productive.

I find the 1920x1200 resolution insanely difficult to read sometimes. It's just too small. I messed around with some other resolutions but of course, most webpages become nearly unreadable then and graphics look jacked up. I like the screen display too much though to change out for the regular display.

No problems at all with 1920x1200, love it...

I can't say that I 'love' wuxga. It's a trade off. I'll live with the smaller fonts for more screen area.....almost makes me want to go to one of those 20" monsters......almost.

I love it. Can't stand when I need to get on one of the desktops in my office. I just got so used to it now displays with lower resolutions I seem to dislike. I have good eyes no glasses or impairments. But I have others looked at my 1920 X 1200 and say how can you see it? I think the 1920 X 1200 is not for someone with not so perfect eyesight or I guess some just can get used to it and some can't.

I love the 1920x1200 resolution...

I used to have a 9100, at 1680x1050 before this, so that got me used to it a little bit I guess.

I'm with you guys, wouldn't give up my WUXGA for anything!

I love the 1920x1200 rez. I thought my 1680x1050 was amazing when I first got it, but since I've had the 1920x1200 it's hard to go back to even 1680x1050 again - it just doesn't look as good or sharp. Still looks good, but not 1920x1200 "great".

I don't spend a lot of time in IE so I haven't noticed any image problems with the large fonts, icons etc. Everything looks amazing. I can see if you don't have the best eyes the small type could drive you nuts however.

I'm not going back again, I've been spoiled by 1920x1200.

it's wierd. Even some of the 20" flat panel monitors aren't capable of 1920x1200. I agree the fonts are a bit small but we'll also be able to watch full 1080P video once it's available in all it's glory.

Ya, 1920 OWNS

On my Gen2 I swapped the panel with a 9300 so I'm running 1440x900 on it and like it better than 1920x1200, mostly because I can run games at native resolution much easier and more stuff turned on

Sure I lose some screen real estate, but it's worth it IMO.

What games were you having trouble running at 1920?

I have a 7800 Go, and I can run my two favorite games at 1920 with all options, with no overclock - games in signature...

Just wondering which games require the shut down of native res? I know Oblivion is supposed to be one!

Why'd you swap your panel, just a straight trade or...? How do you like the WXGA vs the Truelife?
I'm kind of on the fence, I love the truelife qualities (viewing angle, contrast, colour), but the 1920x1200 is a bit much, I have the dpi set to 150% so everything is nice and clear for when my eyes are all red and chinky.

The only games I can comfortably run on 1920x1200 are vietcong and warcraft 3. I have to run swat 4, fear and oblivion at 1440x900.

a 1440x900 truelife would be perfect for me though, but w/o that option I opt for my current pannel over the matte finish.

All the glory of 1900 x 1200 is wonderful!

I would never give up my 1920 X 1200 screen for anything. Just a suggestion for those of you struggling with smaller fonts: in Firefox, at least, you can make everything zoom larger by holding SHIFT and scrolling up on the mouse wheel. Just a thought, it might make it bearable for some of you...

Actually, you have to hold control, and scroll down to make it bigger. You had the right idea though. When you hold shift and scroll up, it goes forward and scrolling down goes back. You can also set the minimum font size in the options so that you don't have to do that every time.
