I tried to install vista, apparently a mistake. Anyway I wanted to reformatt and do a fresh install of XP. I have the promise drivers on a floppy, bios reconizes my HD's but windows says it cannot find them. Any ideas?
Ok i got it to find the HDs and it formatted them, but now as its installing windows, i get a message to put in the diskette with the drivers on it. The diskette that has the drivers is already there but it wont accept it. Is there another set of drivers i need to have for this?
The drivers need to be in the root directory of the floppy, which means it should not be within a folder on the floppy. Just drag the driver file to the floppy.
Just like trying to install raid on a new windows install you have to press F-6 when windows tells you. As you install vista watch to see if the screen says to press a key to install the controller drivers.
