Ok, I retired my IBM T23 today (old PIII). I have a brand new Acer Aspire 9500 AS9503EWSMi on the way from newegg.com! I also am adding a 1GB of DDR2 memory and replacing the Celeron-M 1.5 with a 2.0 Pentium-M CPU. Yes I did my homework. I know that I will need to upgrade the Bios to get the fans quiet and will need to convert it from Fat32 to NTFS but all and all expect to get past these small road blocks with ease.
I mostly purchased this notebook due to my budget and the 17" screen seems very attractive. I am excited, but do not expect the graphics to be outstanding with an Intel GMA 900. I might try FS2004 and some weaker games to see how it goes. Any insight from anyone? It's mostly going to be a internet and photo storage unit.
