I'm getting a new laptop at the first of July and these two models are the top candidates. I'm looking at 2.16 processor, 2gb ram, 100 gb 7200 rpm hdd, WUXGA screen. I can get the price close enough that the difference doesn't matter (work is buying it anyway).
As I see it the main difference is that the Dell has better speakers and more graphics memory, while the Sager has a full keyboard, camera, and card reader.
Does anyone have reasonably objective information they'd like to share about why one of these machines might be prefereable? My stepson has the Sager, but I haven't yet seen the Dell.
Things I care about:
Possible upgrade paths to future CPU or GPU
Raw speed
Gaming performance
Build quality
Ergonomics
Features
Things I definitely don't care about:
Bling (Frankly I'd rather have the E1705 case)
Why you love/hate Sager/Clevo/Dell.
If there are other machines you think I should consider, I'd be happy to hear about it, but nothing larger than 17", 10lbs, and nothing smaller than WUXGA 15.4 inch.
