I made my final decision and bought this http://shots.dmb.hey.nu/june2006/laptopbuying.png .
Its 2.1 dual core, T2600 with 2 gigs or ram. Any impressions, you think its good? I got a good deal on it because i found a -750 coupon.

Congratulations on your purchase. Good choice. That the model I just ordered yesterday, with a $750 coupon. I got a 1.66Ghz Core Duo, though. Hopefully, I will be able to upgrade to Merom in a couple of months.

Yes, ubuntu is one of my favorite distros. Either that or gentoo. As for automatix, i know its geeky, but i prefer to set things up myself, as im a security freak :

Nothing but rumors, there remains absolutely no technical details while AMD has never presented any research into the matter in the past.

all i gotta tell you is the core duo is the best. simply because of its performance and power saving.
