if your not much of a gmer then don't get the 7400 in the1210, just get the integrated graphics on the 1210 and now you can knock 150 $ off the 1210

i see that link is nice. but im interested in the 3yr warranty. which i cant buy on that site apparently. nevermind i see the option after cart.

still not much different.

the price difference was with an ipod, and there was 175$ rebate on that so.

well for that price I suggest going for a Sony SZ110

There was a huge sale on them a few weeks ago (they were sold for $1175 or so) and now ebay is filled with them... you can get some on BIN for $1350 shipped right now, but if you wait a week or two the price should drop even more..

Specs:

CPU Type Intel Core Duo T2400(1.83GHz)
Screen 13.3" WXGA
Memory Size 1GB DDR2
Hard Disk 100GB
Optical Drive DVD+R Double Layer / DVD±RW Drive
Graphics Card nVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 and Intel GMA950
Weight 4.1 lbs

i guess it would come down to what O.S you prefer, and what your planning on using it for.

If you go for the Mac, which I personally suggest, make sure you get the iPod at the same time and on the same receipt otherwise Apple most likely won't give you the rebate. And it's not a free 2gig iPod it's a 179 dollar rebate which effectively makes the 2gig nano free but can be used towards any iPod.

yea, the ipod would be purchased with it. Im not really ready to buy right this minute, so ill probably miss the ipod. i hear apple has deals every few weeks, so ill probably wait a deal or two.

as for the sony, blah, no thanks.

ill probably get the mac. never had one, like osx, and can always use xp.

Apple only does a deal like this once a year to get the back to schoolers.

i once had to argue with dell support for 4 hours to get them to waive the restocking fee on a DOA laptop....

i had to contact dell for a new bluetooth keyboard for my Axim because the plastic casing broke on me after about 2 weeks of very light-duty use. 10 minutes on the online chat (which sucks because it REQUIRES windows and IE...neither of which i currently use) and the deal was done. 3 days later I wake up to a DHL delivery guy rining my doorbell with a brand new keyboard

however my *best* techsupport of all time award goes to ASUS for when i tried to build my friend a new computer using the A8N-SLI mobo and encountered some problems firing it up... turned out it was the PSU that did me wrong, but the guys @ ASUS were very helpful with suggestions on what to try to get it to work, and once they ran out of ideas they offered me a chance to RMA.

Get the Dell dude. A coworker has the 13" apple laptop. It looks and feels much larger and heavier than my 700m.

i finally looked at the macbook today in the mall. it was NOT that hot, had been on all day.

the plastic on the inside around the touchpad/keyboard was a little see-through? i was expecting white, just something to get used to i guess. another thing is how the screen opened so that it was behind the base, and not on top, again, something to get used to.

overall i was very happy with the feel and look, considering i dont know $hit about osx.

ill be taking advantage of the apple sale they have right now with the ipods (because i dont have an mp3 player as of today). will just be waiting till school starts after i get my car.

anyone know what security the airport card supports with wifi?
