does anyone know of a good replacement battery for the m6811? I would be especially interested in a longer life battery. Has anyone tried to rebuild the battery?

use extra care and ur head when playing with electronics :-)

on the light side:
"during a world cup match, a spectator noticed that a seat lays empty next to a man - intrigued "whom does the seat belongs to? he asked - "well it belongs to my wife, but she passed away", replied the man. "So, sorry to hear, dont u know any other that u can bring with?" - well, not really - they are all at my wife's funeral!"

cheers ...

more specific

By longer life, I meant hours/minutes of use not number of charges. Also, Dell laptops come with 2 battery options, 8 cell and 12 cell (I think). I see loads of 4400mah batteries, but was hopping to find one with more endurance.

thanks for replying qhn

I do not think that you would be able to find a larger battery for your laptop. Tlhe problem is that there is no room; most of the laptops that have extended life batteries extend out the back or uses modular batteries. The design of our machines do not allow for a larger amount of cells to extend out of the laptop.

this guide WORKS! - just revive my dead HP N5430 battery back to life. Only issue was to find the cell replacement, costed me $36 (shipping/tax inclusive).
Just a note, it was a bit hard to pry the casing open, the manufacturer put some plastic glue (as the guide mentioned) between the cell and the casing, i use the thin "wooden" ruler to pry inside. I glued back only at the 4 corners so to remember them next time :-)

cheers ...
