Questions on a E1505 purchase.

I'm pretty much set on a E1505, it is what I..'need'...in terms of power and size. Problem is, money is tight. Just a few questions.

The price is coming up a little too high. Fully decked out with what I want it is coming out to be around ~1.4k, so knocking a hundred dollars or so off is needed.

Is the difference between the 1.8 and 2 Ghz processors noticeable at all? How long do you think it will take before the 1.8 becomes obsolete? Mind you, I'm currently running on a 900Mhz Pentium III Win 98SE computer >_>...

I've been looking into a TV tuner card as well. Dorm space being rather limited I thought It might be nice to use my lappy as a TV to save some space (plus, my current TV is about beat anyway). How well do these things work, how do they work exactly, and what can I exactly get station wise on these things. My Dorm comes with basic cable, does the TV tuner card do that?

As for deals, I'm doing a 750 dollar off in the Dell home; hopefully I'll get free shipping or something also. And that 5% from Discover doesn't sound too bad. I'll get a 35 buck one off ebay also most likely. As for this fatwallet I've been hearing about, what exactly do I do for that?

I'm just trying to squeeze every penny I can out of my budget, and out of Dell. Any suggestions/answers would be great =)

I don't think the proc. upgrade will be worth it for you especially since $ is tight. google the tv tuner.

the TV tuner works just like a TV would, and will integrate nicely into windows XP MCE for watching/recording/etc. it's an external USB model unfortunately, which is the deciding factor that made me not get it. i might get one of the $40 ones on ebay, though.. the price is right.
