The only difference I see between the two topend models (9412 and 9612) is a Gig of memory and $400. They look good though

Fantastic! Does it come with MXM upgradable tech?

Now I'll just wait for the price to go down.

That's exactly how I feel! The P105-S921 is one hell of a laptop, though - really, even if it's got a 4200 rpm drive and half the video memory. I'd be completely happy with it if not for two things, mainly because it runs very, very hot after a while, and two, to discontinue almost right after it's released..hmm. I'm waiting to see if the new machines have revised cooling of any kind, I can't imagine how HOT a GTX would make it.

Yay, I was just told that I won't be getting the P105-S921... thanks for telling em that 3 weeks after I ordered... I hate ordering crap through my company. Now I gotta wait until CDW posts these, or any laptop worth half a shit to get one.

Yeah... majorly... I have to do it through my company because it's my "free business laptop" but they do it through CDW... I'm currently talking to them about getting it from toshibadirect since they messed up my order, but it looks grim.

im hearing that it runs way too hot tho, a decent amount worse then the 7900 gs, i have a friend that got his hands on one(dunno how) and the temp diffs' are noteable plus the gs can be pushed to gtx levels ( with proper modding) so although i am kinda pissed that i got my p105 a month ago, i wouldnt have spent the extra 800 on the p100, esp if i can push what i got now its not like a 7900gs is going to suck any time soon
post #13 of 16
Damn, an extra 800? You mean for the top P100 model? Because the lowest 7900GTX costs as much as the 7900GS P105 did.

Im thinking real strong about this. I see it offers the pcmcia slot still, so it saves me the trouble of tracking down an adapter, as Dell and others are dropping support for the slot. Id be curious to find out, if the cpu is soldered onto the board or not. Anybody know? How was it on the p105?

my 7900gtx runs pretty cool actually, granted its a dell one but still the gpu itself is not that hot.
