ASUS Super Multi DVD Please explain?

Gidday all.

I currently have an ASUS M6030V, but am about to get an A8JM, with 2G 667MHz RAM. I am totally confused however as to what the ASUS Super Multi on this machine will do. My current machine is dual format, dual layer, but I am told the Super Multi is only DVD +, and will not RW. Can someone please explain/tell me what formats this machine will do?. I am hoping it is +-R/RW, in other words it will write anything. Help!!!!!!!

I have the same drive, And it Does do both + and - RW oh btw I have confirmed this by writing all formats.

Hey guys, thanks for your relies. This, however is why I am confused, everybody I talk to says a different thing. I am wondering if it's worth getting an A8JM if it will not write/rewrite in +/- format????

The a8jm has an 8x Dual Layer Super Multi Drive.

DVD Read Speed 8 X
CD Read Speed 24 X
CD Write Speed 16 X
CD Rewrite Speed 8 X
Type of Drive DVD±RW

This is basically all types of media.
