Does the white MacBook really turn orange?

Thread Starter
Hey all
I was just wondering if the white MacBook really turns orange after a month or so of it being in your hands. If I can afford it I would like the black one for looks (and it matches my nano) but if not is the white one going to look hideous? also, is the student discount 10% or 20%, I can't remember. Thanks.

It's the new "albino chameleon" model. Take the black if you want the "panther".

only the hippie Mac users have this problem, too much residue on their hands when using the laptop. get the black one, you'll never go back.

let's not get into that discussion.

I did go down to the apple store to try out the latest and greatest, even though I can't navigate the OS because I have no appleskillz.

i liked the laptop layout, the look and the keyboard, it was running a bit hot (after being on all day). I still don't see why I would get one, but i don't blame anyone else for doing so.

it is oddly soothing in that store. i think there's some kind of incense that parts you with your wallet.

UASpatriot come on, you're not even offering CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. If you're gonna troll go somewhere else... like Antarctica.... or Russia... or somewhere else that no one will ever hear you speak again.... like New Zealand or something. Gosh ppl make me so mad sometimes.

To answer the OPs question: I'd be suprised if it was ORANGE, maybe a bit of a more creamy colour which I'd imagine is the base before the other more white and clear colour goes on. Much like if you scrap the colour off an action figure. Moral of the story go black, cause black is bad-a$$

I like their commercials, creative. You probably wouldnt be able to do better.

Im pretty sure even after heavy use, the mac will turn orange. Even with sweaty hands using it all day, theres just going to be a dark spot where the palm is.

Ok, they are overpriced, OSX10 sucks, they suck, nothing is compatible with them, they suck.

The commercials are creative but extremely stupid, it wouldnt want to make me buy a mac.

OSX10 sucks,
with teh OS, its really to each his own. if it wasn't for my linux experience, when my school switched to OS X i would have been as confused as all my classmates, just really depends what you're more comfortable with. I am with you though on the fact that i disagree their document based approach. 1) i want a taskbar 2) when i click the little X, i want the whole damn app to close, not have it drain my ram in the background

they suck,
last time i checked apple didn't make vacuume cleaners

software developers develop for what is most popular, ie WINDOWS, so naturally OSX does lack what a windows user woudl call a "complete library" however...they run windows now too... so software libraries are identical.

you can overclock..well..regular clock the x1600 back up to its regular speed, they're just downclocked to extend battery life..and while they do run warmer than they should, it doesnt impact performance to a significant degree

actually..virtually every company calls them "notebooks" now..not laptops because they're not meant to be used on your lap, because *gasp* all notebooks run hotter now than they did a few years ago...

O'rly, I guess that proves the S96J is better, because it can be called a laptop, because it can be used on your lap without discomfort.

my laptop turns orange, but that's usually due to the cheezy poofs
