Dell 350 Bluetooth and Motorola HT820

Thread Starter
Has anyone gotten the Motorola HT820 to work with any Dell laptop with the BT350 module?

I'd like to get it to work as:

1) Stereo headphones to listen to MP3s.
2) Headset to work with Skype or any other voice chat program.

I have tried 3 different bluetooth stacks, Microsoft's, Toshiba's, and WIDCOMM's.
Only the Toshiba ones allowed me to pair the HT820 to my laptop as both Headphones and Headset. The Headphones connection worked fine. But the Headset connection won't connect.
Microsoft and WIDCOMM stacks won't even allow me to pair my HT820.

If anyone has gotten the HT820 to work on their Dell, let me know what steps you took, and which bluetooth stack you are using.

Thanks.

*Side note on the Toshiba bluetooth stack...It's processes ramps the CPU usage up to 100%* Not sure why.

This is an old post, but you don't have any replies. I got my HT820 to work with the most current BT drivers from Dell's website. I had to uninstall Microsoft's stack then install the Toshiba stack after the MS drivers were all gone. I have version 4.00.22D (AVRCP doesnt work too well tho - it only supports WMP)

i replaced the toshiba stack with the microsoft stack. but i have an hs850. i use it for skype/gizmo calls all the time. i hate the toshiba stack because its hard on system resources, but the advantage as i understand is it's the only stack that has A2DP. so that should give you stereo quality on wireless headphones.

question:when you installed the widcomm stack, did it detect the bt adapter correctly? widcomm is definitely my favorite stack.

I couldn't get Widcomm to work with my headphones. It wouldnt use A2DP so it was using the headset profile, so sound was terrible and only out of one side. Toshiba does suck up too many resources but its the only stack I've found that works with my HT820.

See this thread about halfway down and you can try using the IBM drivers which have worked well for us Acer people. The IBM install the WIDCOMM stack and don't have any licensing with them so should install with no problem. Works well for me but am still having one problem which is why I am lurking in the Dell forum. When I pause the music or press stop I lose my connection to the MOTO ht820 and requires a reconnection to get sound back. Im still looking for a fix to that.
