The screen looks good and and I don't see any problems with it. There is so much dell crap on there. Should I just format and reinstall or should I just delete the programs I don't want?

I would delete the programs you don't want and then defrag. Personally, I always reformat and reinstall, but thats just me.

So how is it? Is it pretty speedy? Mine should be here soon and I hope its fast enough for me

Yes do a clean install. Make sure you have the drivers that you need, I did not use any of the dell cd's just downloaded them form Dell's sight.

I got a samsung LCD. Here's a stupid question but would it be pretty obvious to the naked eye if there were any dead pixels, ghosting, horizontal rain, etc?

Best way to find out is to set the background to black and see if there are any, and then set to white and look again. I figure if you don't see anything weird after that you are good to go.

I used the monitor calibration tool from monitorsdirect.com.
