Several products out there that are LCD friendly. I just use a soft duster or micro fiber rag to wipe it off. I don't touch my screen with fingers or have any kids that will put their fingers all over it.

Home made solution: one part of alcohol to three parts of water. Wipe off with a clean and dry towel. Voila! Always wipe your screen in a LIGHT circular motion.

windex and a tissue

I would not recommend using tissue or any table napkin.

I have a high end lcd for my desktop and in the instruction it said to only use water and a soft rag. This cleans the screen just fine so there is absolutely no reason to even chance anything other than just water and a soft rag. I would NOT put any type of alcohol or cleaning supply on my screen.

I use Radio Shack's static free plastic and glass cleaner. It's good stuff and keeps the screen from attracting dust. It's a foaming cleaner, I just spray it on a microfiber cloth and gently wipe. Does pretty good.

Dishwasher - top rack only.

seriously, a little water and a microfiber cloth (you can find these in the auto section at Wal*Mart for a couple bucks) will do the trick. Electronics wipes work fine as well.

Window cleaner (Windex or pretty much anything blue sold as window cleaner usually has ammonia in it) strips off certain special coatings applied to some CRTs to reduce glare. I've never seen Windex hurt an LCD. The company I work for has a few hundred of them out on the plant floor and that is what the goof-balls use to clean them. The biggest issue I have seen with using products like that is that they tend to leave streaks.

Monster Screenclean is great. It is a little expensive, but it will last a long time. I use it on all of my lcd's. It comes with a large microfiber cloth. I got mine at radio shack.

Alcohol is one of the main contents of many LCD cleaning solutions....

That's why one part of alcohol to three parts or more water. If you use plain tap water, you'll leave drying marks all over your LCD. Moreover, it's hard to dry.

Alcohol WILL harm your LCD if you use too much of it.

Microfiber and a little water

I use around a 50% dilution of rubbing alcohol and distilled water with a soft cloth and it works fine.

I usually put up a jpeg of a t-bone steak as a desktop background & plunk it on the floor near the dogs bed.
Spotless in seconds.

I've just started using CleanSafe for LCD TFT etc, claims not to remove any coatings or anything, previously about 1:5 vinegar and water but i got scared about coatings and stuff...so succumed to CleanSafe advertising! (meant to enhance life, provide optcal pure nano-layer or somesuch nonsense!)

Anyway no problems with either method really.
