Experiences w/ New Dell Drivers 84.69 for E1705/7900gs

well this is old news but dell's latest 84.69 drivers for the 7900gs comes with a new control panel and i got a 3dmark06 score of: 3837 this is stock with no overclocks etc... is this score normal for stock drivers?

so far it's stable and the lcd screen actually shuts off when the laptop lid is close so thats a plus (it doesnt shut off when closed with any other drivers, laptopvideo2go, tweaksrus) but the downside is no software overclocking & no temperature display, i try the driver registry hack to enable it but it gave me a blue screen today after a few hours which is a bad sign, so i removed it and clean the drivers out and reinstalled the dell 84.69drivers. anyone know any other way to overclock the dell drivers? anyone else using the 84.69 dell drivers? what are your experiences? i don't really likes laptopvideo2go and xtremeg drivers because about 1 out of every 10 restarts results in a windows error msg while shutting down, which doesnt affect anything but is annoying, and i see no performance increase in using it vs. the dell drivers. why do ppl bother anyways, i can understand if it's that versus dell's decemeber 2005 drivers, but dell just released this version in june so no point to use modded drivers now right?

nvgear,

With the stock dell drivers, when you close your lid, then re-open it, do all your icons and windows resize?

well i only have 4 icons on the desktop, and they are all on the top-middle of the screen, when i close the lid the recycle bin always likes to put itself to the top left corner so that's where i leave it now and everything stays the way it should be closed open closed open, so yea i think the screen resolution gets turned down to maybe something like 800x600 when it shuts off maybe that's why, probably a glitch, someone should really tell dell.
