disassembling sony vaio vgn-a series

Hi, I want to change the hard drive of my Sony VAIO vgn-a297xp. Despite my googling I do not find any guides on how to do that. In fact I am stuck on how to remove the two screws holding the keyboard just below of the monitor and right on the centre.

I found a couple of relevant posts both are referring into a site which appears to be dead (at least in the last couple of weeks).

Any help?

Cheers.

Hi, nice job. However, it came a bit late for me as I have already changed my HDD. I found one IMPORTANT bit missing in your guideline (or maybe not highlighted as I only had a quick look). Before you take off the top there are two more cables to be taken out apart from the keyboard one....

One is a white one for the monitor and another one for the touchpad.... Both are taken out by pulling them out...

I also have some photos of mine so I will post them along with yours....

My new harddisk is a hitachi travelstar 80 GB @ 5400rpm.... May post its performance along with the photos...

Not my teardown, I just snagged that a while ago incase I ever decide to open mine up.. So I somewhat know what to expect.

BTW, I love my A Series!
