Hi all,

my 7800go idle at 64/65c, is that consider high? i dont oc the 2d mode at all.

another thing is that do the 9400 power down the graphic card when it is on battery? cuz i get 59/60c idle when i unplug it from AC.

Thanks in advance.

Your temps are probably fine, and your card probably does underclock when you unplug the main power. You can adjust this in the nVidia driver settings menu.

it does crash out of game once, i'm not sure if it is a heat problem, but it was 88c after i crashed out.

7800 has heat issue. My idle temperature is at 68 ~ 70 degrees, and in game, if the temperature is above 85, it will crash.

Try to get the fangui control, and turn the gpu fan to high when you are playing game. That at least makes your laptop last longer in game.

Is that replaced with 7900 GS? Big congradulation if that is the case.

I am still in the process of working with dell to resolve the 7800 heat issue, such as making sure the fan has no dust, or using my laptop in a highly ventilized room.

The thing that really bugs me is the idle temperature. No way my 9400 can last very long with that kind of temperature.

Aye they are swapping it with the 7900 GS, I have it posted in another thread here with the chat session.
