Laser Mice

So has anyone tried the Logitech G3 or the new carbonfiber-esque G7?

Nope.

I really like the G7, the reciever is tiny and the mouse has an off button so that I can use it with my notebook. The battery life is pretty short, but since it comes with two batteries that take seconds to swap out you can cycle the batteries and never run out of juice.

I just wish that they kept all the buttons from the mx1000.

laser mice are wickedly accurate but too jumpy for my shaky old hands. I'll stick with optical.

yes, i modified the speed in the settings. still too jumpy for me.

i figured the G3 might be interesting for people who arent fans of logitechs standard mouse style.

I've got the G5....man, that thing is pretty damn nice. You can even add weight too it to help stabalize your accuracy. Then you can change the sensitivity on the fly. Say you want to have a slower moving mouse for a railgun/sniper rifle...but still need it to move quicker when you're running around....mmmmm gooodnesssssss. (G7 has that feature too) Logitech G5

that sounds like a lot of work.

I have the G7 at the house and the old MX1000 at the office, I kinda like the weight of the MX1000 vs the G7, but for gaming the G7 does seem more accurate and stable, and the ablity to quickly swap the batteries is pretty cool. I do wish the buttons were the same on the G7 that are on the MX1000 though.

I have a Razer Copperhead.

It looks sweet.
Feels nice.
Is amazingly accurate.
And i get complements that it matches my XSP2 lights.
I like it alot.
But my k/d ratio in CS:S has not gone up any so i can say it its better than my old kinston $25 laser mouse. Then again, i kinda suck anyway so i am probably not the best tester.

Its like I am the guy on the Golf course with the bright white shoes and shiny golf clubes. He looks good to everyone, but you know he's not the best because his equipment is too clean and new Which means he does not play very much.

I have a G7. Works great. So incredibly light compared to my MX1000. The carbon fiber one is just a sticker BTW.

g7- simply the best...'till the next best thing comes around.

question for those with a G7.. does anything light up when the battery is charging?? I just got mine, it's plugged into the USB port, laptop is on and the battery is in the charger, but there's no indication it's charging..
The green light on the charger should be blinking. It'll stop blinking when it's fully charged. Make sure that you inserted the battery all the way to the slot.
Thanks, I think I have a bum charger.. I've tried pretty much everything and there's no light at all. Doesn't seem to be increasing the charge in the battery either.
It probably has something to do with stupid DHL and the messed up route they took to get it to me. Ft. Worth-Austin-OHIO- San Antonio.. the box looks like it travelled an extra 2000 miles too
post #17 of 27
Man, that sucks. When you insert the battery to the charger slot, do you hear a "click"? When I got mine, I thought I had a problem also, but I just wasn't inserting the battery all the way in.

that g7 looks hawt.
yeah, there's a faint click and if I push it any further I'll probably break it.
I've also tried it on my 9300 and there's no charge there either. Different USB ports also don't do anything.
I'm just going to send it back. I hate new things that don't work and I'm really not impressed with the mouse. The logitech website makes it look like the base and the mouse have lights in them, but they don't and the feel of it is too small and light for my taste. I'll stick with my MX1000 and my wife just won't be able to inherit it from me

it was a bad charger and the thing is boxed up and ready to be sent back. Still debating if I want another one or if I'll just stick with my MX1000.. wasn't too impressed with the G7, but I also didn't get much of a chance to use it with the nearly dead batteries it came with..
