Perfect Laptop Sleeve for M1210 (and other 12" Widescreen Notebooks)

I just received my CasePC Laptop Sleeve (Size Extra Small).
Link to CasePC Homepage
They have the sleeve for $25 with Free Shipping. It's a pretty good deal, but the best deal is at AcademicSuperStore for $18 with Free Shipping. They also have them at CompUSA online, but it's $25 with no free shipping. I ordered it from Acemedic Super Store and they shipped it out pretty fast. It ships from Texas.

Initial Impressions:
This is a good looking sleeve. Most sleeves are pretty plain, but this has nice grey/black contrast design, a nice mesh backing for CD's, etc.. and rubber side grips. I also wanted a vertical sleeve so that I could use it in my backpack and remove the notebook without taking the sleeve out (my maing complaint with most sleeves including Shinza dna Sumdex Impact Guard). I also like that it has a velcro rather than a zipper. It also comes with a lifetime warranty which is nice.

The best part? The M1210 fits PERFECTLY! With the 6 cell battery, it's fits slightly loose...with the 9 cell battery, it fits slightly snug.

Now on to the pics!

with 6-cell

with 9-cell

It fits in my backpack "sleeve" perfectly adding more protection and padding.

So what is the case made out of, is it like neoprene or more light foamy? And does your notebook feel protected?

p.s. rep for you

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up!

But I personally prefer the Shinza look.

It is made of what most other cases are made of. Nylon, velcro, high density/stiff foam/neoprene (for inner padding), etc...It feels very sturdy and is well made. Lined with softer felt inside. It provides very good protection. I wouldn't feel comfortable dropping it or dropping anything heavy on it, but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that with any case...not even a Shinza.

I like the Shinza cases too. I've owned a couple of them. The only thing I don't like about them is that you have to take the sleeve out of the bag to get the computer out since you have to completely unzip it. I prefer the Sumdex Impact Guard sleeves (which are made of the same material) because you only have to unzip one side and you can slide the system out. I really like this case, since I can easily use it in my backpack which I carry everyday but doesn't offer very good protection alone. Also, from what i can tell, the Shinza case fits the M1210 a little too tight and i don't want a workout or have to struggle with it each time I slip the the computer in and out...especially when I'm standing at the airport security line with 100s of people behind me (which happens a lot).

Would a 6-cell M1210 fit well in a Shinza?

check out this thread. The last poster has one with a 6-cell battery and says that it fits tight...so tight that he's worried about it putting too much pressure on his LCD lid. I don't want to have to worry about that.

Wow. That sucks.
In the process of finding sleeves, I found another one:

SF Bags makes good stuff....and their vertical sleeve was one of the ones I was considering. I just couldn't justify paying $40+shipping (so about $45-50 total) for a basic sleeve that doesn't even include a flap.

I'm sure some company is going to realize the need for M1210 sleeves.
Hope they hurry though,

sweet post i've been looking at this case for a long time govtcheez! very glad to know that it'll fit the 1210 WITH the extended battery! and that it seems to be exactly what its description says it is. I too will be mostly lugging the laptop in a backpack so a top loader was essential. the pics are nice also! unfortunately i was hoping for more water resistance.. because while the material may be waterproof there are definitely openings from the sides of the sleeve sticking out beyond the flap:-/ just ordered mine from that acedemic superstore, thanks for that cheaper website also!

I just ordered one of these through www.academicsuperstore.com thanks to this thread. I would have never really considered a small sleeve type case but since it would save me from lugging my whole bag to work when all I really need is the pc itself.

Thanks!

STM Alley Bag from Apple Store

Just bought an STM bag from Apple Store. Looks pretty nice. Fits a 13" Macbook, but I think it'll fit the M1210 well.

Here's a gander:

Bought it on the Canadian website. A little on the expensive side, but it's got room for more than just the laptop:

My First Post here......Has anyone tried "The Jazz" by Tom Bihn? New bag. Suppose to fit the m1210.Thinking about purchasing. Kinda pricey.

I've got a North Face backpack with a padded laptop holder. Is this typically enough or should I get a sleeve too?
i saw the "CasePC Laptop Sleeve" at compusa the other day..... personally i really wasn't impressed with it.... looked pretty crapy to me. also the padding was pretty terrible compared to the "memory foam" cases that are available. it wasn't very thick, and i'm pretty sure it was just a light foam or possibly polyfil that was in it. although i'll have to deal with a zipper, i ordered one of the dr. mo ones that someone suggested in the other thread about this, everyone thats got them seems to be very impressed, i'll post my own little review of it once i get it. they're actually sold out now

I have one horizontal sleeve with the flap from SF Bags (WaterField) for my 700m that fits it with extended battery. Cost me a bomb. Can't remember the price but I think it was about $60 including tax & shipping but it is very good quality & provides excellent protection. I haven't tried it on my M1210 yet. Sure hope it fits the M1210 with extended battery. I'll try to find time to try fit my M1210 with the WaterField sleeve & maybe post some pictures on this thread.

I just got my CasePC sleeve last week thanks to this thread. I love it and just as the OP I use it as added protection when in a larger backpack case, and when I go to work or class I grab just the sleeve and go. I like the velcro rather than zipper and the fact that it opens from the side so I can pull it out of my backpack directly.

I tried the Academic Superstore first to save shipping, but after about 10 days on backorder I canceled and ordered direct from CasePC. They shipped it in less than 24 hrs and a few days later I had it!

Thanks for the pics!
