The fit is perfect. It's like it was made for it. Good cushioning, various pockets. Excellent buy. Has a little removable pouch on the shoulder strap for a cell phone, but i put my mini-mouse in there. Perfect! Even has room for the power adapter in the front flap, although I usually just use it for a DVD. Can't fit much else in this bag. A few papers, a planner, and pens.

One of the best things is that it looks like a book bag. Impossible to tell there's a laptop inside. If anyone wants pics, I'll post 'em.

Is one of these sleeves necessary if only using the Dell nylon carrying case? It sounds like people with backpacks are the ones that really want the sleeves.
Well they are not really necessary for any of us no matter what full size case we have.

Most decent laptop cases have some sort of padding/protection. Some people are just adding a little extra and some (like me) have a huge pocket for a 17" notebook in my backpack and I didn't want my 12" sliding around in there.

Plus even if you don't want to use it with another case, they are great for short trips when you want a little protection from scratches and bumps, and at times when the battery life is not an issue and you don't need to carry all the cords and accessories along with you. It's more of a grab and go thing, makes me much more mobile to grab the cell phone, keys and the sleeve rather than a larger case that weighs 2 or 3 times the notebook with all that stuff I don't need.

I just got my bag (all $200 of it) from SFbags and I'm anxiously wanting to try it out. I'll try to post some impressions and maybe pics of it soon.

Apparently it fits the m1210 like a glove, and my backpack doesn't have the greatest padding even tho its made for a lappy... Only $25. great deal

What about the sleeves that have a shoulder strap, where would I find one of those? I guess I should be more looking into the messenger bag category.. a messenger bag that has ample padding..not floppy cloth...

I have a Tucano brand sleeve advertized as fitting a 13 inch powerbook. It's expensive ($50) as you get a faux-suede look, but it fits the M1210 very well and comes with a keyboard cover/cleaning cloth. I would imagine any sleeve advertized for the 13 inch powerbook would fit the 1210 as well.

Macbook Size: 12.78" X 8.92"
M1210 Size: 11.7" X 8.7"

...it looks like they are similar in size in terms of width, but the Macbook is more than an inch wider than the M1210. I don't know about you, but I hate it when there is a lot of extra space in a sleeve and it's moving around in there.
