What to do before it arrives?

Since it's going to take a good while before my baby arrives I was wondering if there is anything I should be downloading to be updated on the machine when it arrives. Do AlienWare update all the drivers and such when they set the machine up or will I need to do this when it gets here?

Also, are there any known problems/issues with the Sentia's? I've read something about the display but not sure about this and how it gets fixed?

Thanks, T

I have not encountered any problems with the display. I have seen many posts of ghosting issues with the "Gamer" version, but honestly, I don't even know what ghosting means. I have turned up my eyeys sensitivity to whatever definition ghosting I can think of and have not detected any annoyances.

One tid-bit to know - The Intel Extreme 2 supports dual monitor display. I just posted screenshots at Slacker.NET

Nice, dual-display is one of those things I assumed it would have - I'm glad that it does

Also, I read your great review and found out that you re-installed windows, any reason for this?

I like a clean install and doing away with the mess left by another person. Although Alienware does not load the computer up with a lot of trash offering free AOL, Earthlink, etc. There is still that feeling of a "not so clean system".

Thats sounds weird booga, Kinda like Dangerfield wanting Juliet Lewis to get "Clean" before he comes up to see her in NBK.
