What can I save from my cousin's fried Dell 630m?

Hi! My grandma had the great idea to buy a brand new Dell 630m laptop to my 14 years old crazy cousin (he's not really into the computer world) and after two days using it he spilled a glass of water over it, so the laptop turned to almost garbage, so i'm wondering what can i save from his laptop because i own a new Dell 1405. It will be the battery ruined?, if not, it will works in my Dell 1405? What about the charger, it's the same for the 1405? Anything else?
I can't try right now if the different parts work in my dell 1405 because we live in different cities.

Thanks for you help

yea, if you want the warrenty to be valid (dont all dells come with a 90 day condition free gaurentee?) if not, then yea, they arnt gonna take it back and you can strip it. best way to see if the battery works is to pop it in your own. you can maybe try salvaging the hard drive, but i think thats as far as you're gonna go, as the mobo is probably fried

sell some of the parts on ebay.... ram,hd,lcd? maybe even the cpu? as for warranty, your screwed unless she bought complete care, which you still may be screwed.

id just test everything u can, then sell some stuff on ebay.

Or you could go on ebay and get a new one, with lower spec parts.. and then just swap things such as CPU, RAM, and HDD.

I'd get an old crappy laptop and pull things like the HDD, ram, wireless card, etc. and test it out. After testing you can either get a new mainboard, and/or other parts, or sell off the individual parts on ebay.
