DVD playback question

I had a quick question to see if anyone could help me with. I have a dell 8200 with a nvidia geforce 2 go and have been having a problem with playing certain dvds. The problem is that its starts to skip, or will start to go frame by frame and is really choppy. It doesn't do it on all dvd's only some, and only some of the time. I have tried brand new dvds and it still does it. One thing I have noticed is that if I play them in full screen compared to wide screen it will do it less. And sometimes if I will restart the computer it will work fine. I have tried reloading the dvd software (winDVD) and also my OS, neither have helped. Any suggestions would be apprieciated.

This is just from memory but it seems that I had to download the latest drivers from nvidia and then had to get a mod file to install and that fixed the choppy movies on my old one. The son has 8100 now so i cant look at the files to tell you the names. but found info on dells forum.

Latest Nvidia drivers would be a good shot is the drive in the 8100 the LG808? or an LG drive in particular?

I have tried the newest Nvidia drivers that I could find...and that sitll didn't work. I am unsure if the drive is an LG or not....i will check and reply again later..

which bios do you have seems like to me one of the newer ones addressed this ?

I believe I got the newest bios that I could also...but I will double check, thanks for the suggestion

DELL-Machina- as far as I can tell I don't have a LG drive...honestly i am not sure the best place to figure that out, and i have updated the bios...but still no solution...
