My Aurora 7500 - Oh The Pain ! - Page 2

Delayed again till the 9th for one stick of 512mb memory. Im really thinking of cancelling today. I wanted the pc for this summer and well, its not happening. The guy told me he couldnt even say he was 100% certain it was the 9th. Quite frankly i find it a joke that they couldnt get me this one part for 3 weeks. I was told it was in manufacturing, then it wasnt, then i was waiting for 3 products, then 1, then 3, then 1 again, all with no ETA and never-ending delays.

Im going away a week after the 9th and so i would have to wait another month to get it. I know it would be incredible, but theres other pre-built manufacturers that have the same specs.

So does anyone know any fast build pre-built suppliers ?

I was thinking dell, but then i didnt like the graphics card, i really dont know if there so geared towards gaming.

Beastcomputers.co.uk look brilliant, and reviews and customer service are all excellent.

Im not sure where to go now, but its just a time thing with the AW, so ill cancel when i can find a new supplier.

Thanks Guys

Take it your still in phase 3 - does that mean until the 512mb of memory arrives on the 9th you'll remain in phase 3?

I'd hang in there myself it'll be worth it when that rig arrives in a big black box, mind you I've been wanting an alienware machine for years so I guess a few weeks delay is neither here nor there for me anyway.

Hi jeddie, and the best of luck with your system !

Yeah i would stay in phase 3 till the 9th, but thats only an estimate and then theres 5 days to build (not including weekends) and 7 to ship. I was told it would be in on the 20th june, then the 5th july and now the 9th.

I know it would own, i really understand why you dont mind the wait, AW produce probably the best pre-builds on the planet IMO.

But i need it for university and i also work from home alot of the time, so i really cant wait another month. (i go on holiday so id have to wait till i came back)

Ill probably be buying an Alienware somewhere down the line, but not right now. Ill configure something with the same specs from somewhere else.

Keep me updated on how you get on ! Best Of Luck Jeddie !

I've just come off the phone with a nice Irish CS girl whose informed me that my shipping date is still the 24 July which is the same shipping date that I was given when I ordered the system last week. She also said that the system build should commence in the next 24 to 48 hours. Here's hoping - Iam still showing on phase 3 at the moment though.

Received e-mail from alienware:

"Thank you for contacting Alienware

At the moment we are awaiting the parts to come into stock, we hope to have them in by the 18/07. As soon as all your parts are in stock we will move your order into production, this usually takes 6 to 8 business days and then a further 24 hrs for testing."

So it looks like begining of August maybe before it arrives
