I actually dont blame FedEx or AW for this. I blame myself. When I took the laptop to the FedEx depot to have it packaged and shipped, I didnt ask to see the package after the shipping label was put on. I just automatically assumed that they would be responsible and put the label on there properly.
Not your fault, FedEx needs to get their poop together.
I sent my desktop to depot a while back for upgrades and a minor issue. I handed them the shipping label and asked them if they wanted me to put it on, they said no problem and they'd do it. They gave me a receipt and I was on my way.
A few days later the tracking info was still not showing up so I called and they said everything was cool. Couple days later same thing so I called again, and was given a different tracking number, it didn't work either.
Turns out the receipt they gave me was from the customer before me.
To make a long story short, the girl that was working when I dropped off my machine was "new". She didn't know what to do with the label, so she threw it away. Then they didn't know where to send it, and they didn't know how to get ahold of me, so the found the old shipping label on the box and shipped it off under their store account. The problem was that the label on the box was Alienware's old facility and they weren't there anymore. And since they used their store account, there was no insurance on my $4000 computer...
Luckily, the FedEx driver in Miami knew Alienware had moved and took it to their new location just to ask about it, so it got there safely no thanks to the FedEx clerks...
I much prefer regular FedEx, never had a problem with them. FedEx Ground blows monkeys. A lot of Alienwares tend to "disappear" when in their hands...
