Help! I need to update my nVidia driver! but my display wont let me!


Hi, I just noticed nVidia have just released 91.31 forceware introducing nVidia's new control panel. I am currently using version 7 or 8 (old)

I want to update so I can install nTune to OC my dual 7800gtx but theres one small problem.



The display I am using is DELL 2005FPW monitor in 1680x1050 revolution (Perfect)



But when I installed the new nVidia driver it dosent have that revolution I need!? It uses 1600x900 which seriously looks ugly on my display and the next size down is 1280x1024 which is too large for my like.

It says it has detected dell 2005FPW display. Can I input a revolution of 1680x1050?

when youre in the "screen resolutions and refresh rates", do you have the "hide modes that this monitor cant support" box checked? if so, try un-checking it and seeing if you can get 1680x1050

Driver install may have failed, as 91.31 works perfectly on my 2005FPW. I have the 1680x1050 setting as well. Try a complete de-install/re-install using Driver Cleaner PRO. Then reinstall the drivers. I think you'll dig the new control panel and the like......

meh ignore my typos, it was late lol. Anyway I didnt un-intstall my previous drivers :S I try that. thanks
