I purchased a Hitachi ATA-6 2.5" 80GB hd to replace my Hitachi ATA-6 2.5" 60gb hd which failed (I believe). But now that I've got the new HD in, when I try to boot into my Windows install CD, I get a blank screen instead of the "Setup is examining your...." etc., message. No setup screen, nothing. Previously when I tried to do this the BIOS wouldn't even bother trying to try to boot onto a CD, would just go right to network boot. Now I hear the CD spinning up, and the HDD light is solid/fast blinking green, so I know it's ACCESSING, but it just gives me a black screen with a white blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner.
So basically I'm trying to figure out what the problem is? The install CD works, I've used it on another PC already. What gives?
