W00t, my M1710 is arriving this week.

Hello,

I ordered my XPS M1710 last week and it is supposed to come this Thursday June 29th. I can hardly wait. Here are the specs.

Core Duo T2400 1.83ghz 667mhz fsb
1gb 667mh ram
100gb 7200rpm harddrive
Windows XP Media Center
WUXGA lcd with truelife Black Cover
512mb nvidia 7900gtx
dell wireless 1390
dell bluetooth 350
8x DVD burner

Paid: $2309 with shipping and tax

Ill be sure to post my thoughts on it as well as the 7900gtx.

I ordered the same model from Tech the other day so I know how you feel, very excited. Mine should be here tommorrow. Sorry not trying to steal your post, I just had to let it out.

Yes, I did order it from tech, he is a great guy to work with. Very knowledgable. I forgot to mention it had the 1 year warranty that I am going to upgrade to the 1 year with accidental damage coverage... just incase Dell makes me really angry...

Very excited.

It should be here tomorrow, Thursday.

The first upgrade I'm going to do to it is upgrade the warranty, just in case I decide to spill something on it or back over it.

YAY! It just came an hour ago... I hate all this preloaded crap. It makes me sad.

Also, little icons and internet images look like CRAP!

Aside from that how do you like it? How's the WUXGA screen, any light leakage or dead pixels?

You have to change the settings in Explorer in order
for your internet images to look right.
Just can't remember exactly which setting it was off hand.

5150 Joker, I love the WUXGA there is no light leakage or dead pixles. I need to find a good Geforce Tony driver, I cant seem to find one that will work.

TTP XPS, thanks for the advice. That is much better.

I just got mine a week ago.... MAN i love this thing....no dead pixels, and extremely low light leakage when the lED's are on. The funny thing is, I don't notice ANY light leakage when it's running linux...weird. I haven't upgraded my drivers yet but plan to do that in a few minutes or tonight when I get home from work. Goin to see Superman tonight so maybe tomorrow

I do love this notebook though, this thing is SO much faster than any desktop I've had, it's funny...my friends desktops don't even compare to this speed demon and I haven't even 'tweaked' it yet. It is very comfortable and I actually really like the keyboard for typing even.

Now I just gotta go get me a good desk and some awesome separates and a sub and i'm set. The more you use it the more you will love it...
