Audio Card Problem

I'm having trouble installing the Realtek Audio on my Z71v. Everytime I try to install the drivers it always says to install the Microsoft BUs drivers. I already installed the Chipset drivers.

I just tried it, and it gave me the same error.

You need to go to Control Panel --> System --> Hardware Tab --> Device Manager.

In Device Manager, there should be a PCI device with a yellow exclamation icon. Right-click and install drivers --> Automatically search for drivers. It should find Microsoft's UAA driver and install accordingly.

After that, you should be able to install your Realtek drivers as per instructions.

It says it "cannot install this hardware."

You might need to reinstall your Windows XP. Then install the ACPI thingy and Intel's INF update. Not sure though.

This one should work:

ftp://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/A..._XP_050725.zip

It's the universal audio driver update from Microsoft, some Asus notebooks required this update.

Low buzzing noise in headphones

Hi all, this is my first post here so bear with me as this was the closest topic area I could find to get some help on a problem I have noticed. When using headphones on my W3J, there is a slight buzzing noise that is really only noticable when music is off, but it does affect watching a movie as it is noticable there. I found that it actually gets worse when having a USB device plugged in such as a mouse, which leads me to believe that it is some sort of electrical interference that is occuring...similar to the noise interference that you might notice in a poorly set up car stereo system (if anyone is familiar with what i am talking about). Has anybody else noticed this at all while sitting in a quiet room with no music on? I am downloading the driver update mentioned above to see if that has any effect. Anybody have any ideas?

Ok so the problem fixes itself when the lappy is plugged into a wall. But when running on battery power the sound comes back...bummer.com. Anyways, if anybody has any input on this matter I would greatly appreciate it!
