Congrats dude...I shouldn't tell this but today I went to work and took my lappy with me. I went to a hotel with high speed wireless net throughout the hotel. I sat in the lobby and downloaded all the windows updates and other programs I wanted. Man hi speed rocks. It would have taken me two days of dial up at home!!

I agree High speed is the best. Have it at work makes it a lot faster

Thats why wireless hotspots are the best. Usually connected with a high speed line! A lot have free access to em too.

Lol. I'm taking my laptop to China with me this summer, but I don't know if the hotels there have high speed wireless networks. That would be awesome. I mainly bought a laptop so I could store and send digital pics when I travel, but I don't think I could go back to a desktop now.

High speed does rock! Yay for Roadrunner!

Other than schools can u list some places? I work from home but would love the opportunity to get out of the house to get some work done. (I dial in via VPN). That said, I was thinking of pony'ing up the 30/month for the Tmobile hot spot deal. Aaah, I'll be the quintessential pretentious LA bastard...sipping on a double latte while talking on my cell phone and surfing the web, er I mean working on my laptop.

Well lets see there are a few sites online that have a list of open hotspots in peoples areas. http://www.wififreespot.com/ and http://www.hotspot-locations.com/ are good places to start. You can also get a program like airsnort or netstumbler and scan around your city and you'll usually pick up some unencrypted ones but that method might not be to your tastes. LOL T-Mobile 30bux a month seems kinda waste of money. There are plenty of free places to get wireless access from. If you live in a large metropolitan city dont be surprised if the entire area is covered with access points. I know in the SF Bay Area espically in SF and San Jose areas there are places where its completely saturated with access points.

Yah I can imagine. The Southland is too spread out. I have to know where I'm going. I'll check those places out. Thanks!
