7422 freezing

I've had the 7422 for under a year and a half, and recently it's started to freeze occasionally when starting up. It'll get as far as showing the desktop, and it looks like it's about to fully boot, but it just hangs. I can't control/alt/delete, but I can hold the power button down for a few seconds and it'll shut down. I can then start it ok the next time.

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but what's the problem, should I worry, and is there anything I can do to fix it? It's happened a handful of times, not frequently, and I can't detect a pattern. Any thoughts? Thanks much.

memtest and scandisk with automatic repair are the 1st 2 steps i would look into
do you have about 15-20% disk space left?

on the lighter side:
2 footballers fought each other over the ball, when suddenly one went down, holding on to his knee and screamed out pain. The referee ran over and asked: "shall i get u a first-aid team or a critic?"
