Installing Memory

I thought the 9750 had four memory slots. Can only find two slots. I want to add more.

There are only two slots, for a max memory of 2Gb. Don't worry, that will be fine for a while. It would have been nice if there were 4 though.

The max 2GB applies to the regular 32 bit XP, from what I understand it can be raised higher than 2GB with XP64

Windows XP 32-bit has a 4Gb Ram limit, while 64-bit is like 128Gb I think.

What this thread is talking about, however, is that there are only 2 memory slots on the Sager 9750, and currently the largest stick anyone makes is 1Gb, so 1Gb x 2 slots = 2Gb Max.

Doesn't matter, that max that the motherboard can take is 2 GB, same with the 9890 which has 4 slots. If you put 4 1GB sticks in the 9890 it will read something like 2.18 GB which is not 4GB. Plus the motherboard is not seigned to take the 2GB sticks when they come out, so that might not work either.
