Summary: GOOD VALUE; JUST PRAY YOU DONT HAVE TO CONTACT ABS AFTER PURCHASE I read many negative reviews on ABS and never believed them until now. I found it quite impossible to contact ABS after purchase over the simple issue of replacing the defective speakers. I sent countless emails and made even more calls, either getting no answer, a busy signal or a message machine claiming they were closed during their office hours. IF YOU NEED SUPPORT DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Summary: I ordered a gigabyte of PC-3200 RAM. They charged my credit card the same day the order was placed for $205.00. More then a week passed and the RAM still had not shipped. I decided to cancel the order, it was clear to me they did not have the item in stock. I sent 2 emails requesting that they cancel the order, and they still have not credited my credit card as of 12/26/2003, they also did not respond to my request to cancel. They should not have charged me until they shipped the item.

Summary: First computer we bought from ABS worked out very well. I spoke with salesperson and asked about options; he helped me to get what we wanted. Everything was assembled neatly out of high quality parts. One of the best things was the notebook they included with catagorized pouches containing software, manuals, phone numbers and so on. My previous supplier was not nearly so considerate. We have bought two more computers from ABS since then; the rep's still there, still a great store!

Summary: I bought an ABS Awesome 3600 in Jan, 03 which was shipped and received within a week. The system had been working great until this last July, 03 when I lost one of the Harddrives. Customer service sent me a replacement 80 gig harddrive although hey had to back order the item and it took several weeks for me to receive the harddrive. They sent out a service person from a local company and all repairs were done under the warranty. I have been satisfied with how I have been treated by ABSPC.com.

Summary: The reviews here seem to be very good or very bad. My experience was very good. I ordered an AMD system and it was delivered by UPS three days later. At each step of the way, I was electronically informed what was happening to my order and when it arrived I was very impressed by quality of the packaging...smart and efficient. The actual product gave every appearance of being brand new and its performance, so far, has been superb. I couldn't be happier.

Summary: I bought an AMD 2700 system from them recently. Their config choices and price were great (I looked at lots of other sites before choosing them). Delivery was prompt and everything was there. I did have a problem getting the PC to boot up, but after working with support I got past it and I don't think they did anything wrong (I blame the young BIOS). However, I did spend over half an hour on hold for their support and the tech guy was knowledgeable but very brusque. Would use again.

Summary: I have purchased a computer system, and I was very happy with the delivery.I only waited 4 days to get the shippment. System runs 24hours a day, without any problems. I have nothing but good things to say about ABS Computer Technologies

Summary: I purchased an Awesome 3120 system from ABS. The delivery was very prompt. However, there were problems right from the start due to a faulty Windows installation and conflicts with the antivirus and the video card drivers. Tech support was very helpful for the first week but finally threw up their hands when I couldn't get my firewall running (McAfee finally solved that one). ABS even started deleting my e-mail without opening!! Not a good experience and I wouldn't buy from them again.

Like some guy mentioned in their review, it seems like people are either having a great experience w/ ABS (confirmed by the majority of posters here) or a horrible experience.

I would say - stick with calling in and asking for tech. support or sales. Their e-mail system is very flaky, and it's more likely that you will not get a response to your questions via that route.

Yeah, they seem like a good company, as I see much more good things said about them, than bad things. But I e-mailed them some questions a couple of weeks ago and never heard back from them.

Well... I usually just call the number and ask for one of the following people in this order: Casey, Marco, Jennifer, and rosemarry. They seem pretty much on-point and want to help. There was one person there that was a total d*ckwad, but I didn't get his name. Mostly my experience has been pretty good, but you can find good/bad reviews from any company and people with bad reviews feel the need to voice it more. Ever check out the dell forums? Its one big message base of hate mail and complaints.

I build an ABS desktop for my brother, and it is a VERY VERY nice machine for the money. But just recently he needed to call their support. He had to leave his # for them to call him back at a specific time when he would be home. He ran into a little bit of trouble with them not calling at the right time (when he wasn't home) but eventually he got to talk to support and they weren't nearly as bad as you might expect. Point is they make a GREAT machine, and hopefully most of us are tech-savy enough to solve our own computer problems, with hardware problems i'm sure they're fine.

I am happy with my f2 and so far the sales experience was what I expected.

I did send their tech support an email but never got a reply or call. Doesn't really bother me eitherway since I don't usually rely on tech support.

I have an ABS Desktop, and I am very satisfied with it. (3.0C, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, 2x80 GIG Segates Raid 0, 1024mb Corsair memory, Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card... $2100) I ordered it over the phone and found the person who help me to be very knowledgeable (sorry, can't remember their name). There is only one problem I ever found with my ABS computer; the fan on the Zalman heatsink was set to silent mode, but according to the instruction manual, it should have been set on the faster mode. I have since changed the fan setting, and it has added some noise but isn't too bad overall. Overall, I highly recommend ABS desktops for their quality and price. If their laptops are as good as their desktops, then they really have something!

Good machines.. bad support

I had (sort of still have) ABS desktop. The machine absoutely rocked. But when I had to call the tech sometimes, It was not a pleasant thing. As time went by I added/removed stuff from that machine including the chasis, motherboard, processor, memory, sound card & NIC card. So not sure if I can still call it an ABS machine

abs

I've had an abs desktop since late 2001 and have not had to call them since I bought it. I also just purchased a g1 laptop and have had 2 minor problems, I wasnt sent all the ram I ordered and my wireless is acting up. I emailed on friday and called monday. I was told someone would call me that afternoon(which they did) but I never got a response to my email. I think its fine that they said someone would call you back, its better than waiting on hold.

Which ironically enough is usually the first thing to go. Or I guess I should say the cooling fan inside the power supply.....

Well, I've had my ABS zForce F2 laptop for almost a month now, and only had a couple small fluky technical problems with it. (AV console didn't want to play when I tried playing a DVD w/o turning the laptop on; for a while, every time I opened the laptop up (when it was on), PowerDVD would think I had just put a DVD in, and started playing... that's stop happening, ever since I changed it to prompt me when I put a DVD in.)

I'll be posting a full review soon, but basically I'm really happy with my laptop. After ordering it at 2:30 pm on Tue., it arrived at my around around 2pm Thur. Yes, kiddies, that's a 48 hour turnaround time from placing my order to receiving my laptop! They gave me free fedex 2 day shipping, knocked $50 off the price, and even refunded me the "assembly and testing fee", once I sent them a couple of emails about it. Are they a perfect company? No, and my laptop isn't perfect either. But I'd give them a 9 out of 10, which imho in the price vs. value comparison, beats just about every other company out there selling laptops.

There's over 300 reviews listed for ABSPC.com, just in the last 6 months! Then compare their score (a 9 overall) with Dell & Gateway's scores and reviews!!
